London has been the home of theatre since the 1500's when the first permanent public playhouse, 'The Theatre', was constructed in Shoreditch. Shakespearean plays wowed crowds here and at 'The Curtain' before 'The Globe' was built. And so it began! Today, the capital is home to some world-class venues meaning that a trip to London without attending one of its great pieces of theatre should almost be illegal!
There is sure to be something for everyone with genres ranging from tragedies to comedies with everything in between.
There is nothing quite like sitting in a grand venue with an exciting vibe all around... being absorbed into a play almost forgetting that these are talented actors before you who are only performing. Every time a story is told is a unique experience, no matter if you're familiar with the story or if you've seen it before.
