This is an opportunity to see a remarkable ballet partnership, in a programme which has been chosen by Agnes Oaks and Thomas Edur especially for Sadler's Wells. Partners both on and off stage, their unique stage chemistry in classics such as Swan Lake and Giselle has won them international acclaim. Venturing into modern works has brought further success, collaborating with Wayne McGregor won them the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance 2004. Both Guest Principal Artists at English National Ballet, they have specially selected a company of ENB dancers to join them at Sadler's Wells. The programme includes Grande Pas from Raymonda Act III, choreographed by Rudolf Nureyev after Marius Petipa and re-staged by Thomas Edur, a sumptuous piece which shows off Oakes' exquisite pointe work and Edur's athlectic precision. In contrast, Balanchines Who Cares? is a wittily classical, joyous celebration of Gerwshin songs. Oaks and Edur will also perform some newly created works.
