Danielle Hope

Danielle Hope is an English actress and singer. She was a contestant on, and eventual winner of, BBC's Over The Rainbow: a talent show to find an actress to play Dorothy in a major upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz.

During her time at secondary school, Hope took the lead in several school productions. She played the roles of Carmen in Fame, the narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Maria in West Side Story. She also appeared in We Will Rock You alongside Charlotte Wakefield from Spring Awakening.

Hope has always been a keen dancer and, at one point, took six dance classes a week. She has performed at festivals including the BBC African Dance Project at Bridgewater Hall.

Before moving to London to take place in Over the Rainbow, Hope was a full-time student at Knutsford High School in Cheshire, and had quit her part-time job as a waitress to focus on her studies. She was studying for her A-Levels in Drama and Dance and her BTEC National Award Musical Theatre.

Danielle Hope was born in Greater Manchester on 26 April 1992.
