Today starts with a private tour of The Tower of London. On arrival, you are met on the middle drawbridge by your very own Yeoman Warder. Leading you into this world heritage site before it opens to the public, your own Beefeater will take you by Traitors Gate. Admire the Crown Jewels in the Jewel house before being taken to the Scaffold site and the Torture exhibition.
Departing the Tower, head to The Mall to watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony as one of the Queens Foot Guard Household Regiments march from St. James Palace to Buckingham Palace to military music dressed in their world famous tunics and busbies (if not on display, see Buckingham Palace and then visit the Horse Guards Parade).
Afterwards, take a short cruise on the River Thames as you enjoy excellent views of St. Paul's Cathedral and Shakespeare's Globe before heading for a traditional pub lunch (not included in tour price).
After lunch their will be plenty of time to take photos of Westminster Abbey built in the 10th century and then head to St Paul's Cathedral. Highlights of a visit to Wren’s masterpiece where Princess Diana was married include listening to the 1695 organ that Mendelssohn once played and visiting the tombs of Nelson and Wellington. Your tour with a professional guide will also illustrate the superb results of the current restoration programme and allow you to test the unique acoustics of the Whispering Gallery. On Sundays, when viewing is restricted, there will be the opportunity to enter and enjoy one of the services.
Then head through Knightsbridge to one of the worlds famous stores - Harrods. Enjoy refreshments served inside including tea, scones, jam and clotted cream.
